VCU Board of Visitors

Lara Tyler Chambers is founder and co-owner of Tyler Development Group LLC, an engineering and real estate development group, based in Richmond, Virginia.  After graduating from Virginia Military Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Mrs. Chambers established Tyler Development Group in 2003.  Since inception, Mrs. Chambers has developed the company to manage all aspects of the land development cycle; including re-zoning, land acquisition, plan development and design, project construction, and financial management.

Along with being one of the first classes of women to attend Virginia Military Institute , Mrs. Chambers served as the first female alumni on VMI’s Board of Visitors for eight years from 2015 to 2023"

Residing in Manakin Sabot, Virginia with her husband, also a 2003 VMI graduate, two sons, 9 and 13.
