Ken Lipstock MD is the founder and director of Lipstock LASIK and Cataract Center in Henrico, Va. Dr. Lipstock received his undergraduate degree at Queens College, N.Y. graduating summa cum laude. He earned his MD degree and also completed his ophthalmology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. He went on to train outside the U.S. with Luis Ruiz, the inventor of the surgical instrument that made the widespread adoption of LASIK possible. Doctor Lipstock was one the first surgeons in North America to perform LASIK as he brought the procedure here to Virginia. He is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at VCU and he was the Director of LASIK for VCU`s Ophthalmology Dept. from 2015 to 2023. With his comprehensive review of the basic science behind laser assisted cataract surgery in 2014, Dr. Lipstock was recognized for influencing eye surgeons worldwide on how best to understand and to utilize this new technology. Since 1987 Lipstock LASIK and Cataract Center has focused on comprehensive, individualized patient care of adults with ocular disorders.
Dr. Lipstock has been married for over 50 years and has three adult children and two grandchildren living in Richmond.
